Beyti Kebab is a traditional Turkish dish that features seasoned ground meat, typically lamb or beef, wrapped in thin lavash bread and baked until golden. It is often served with a rich tomato sauce and yogurt, making it a delectable and flavorful option for any meal.
Ingredients
- 500 grams ground lamb or beef
- 4 pieces lavas bread
- 1 medium, finely chopped onion
- 3 cloves, minced garlic
- 1/2 cup, chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- to taste salt
- to taste black pepper
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 cup yogurt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb or beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix the ingredients well and form them into long, thin kebabs.
- Place the kebabs onto a grill or a baking tray and cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned and cooked through.
- While the kebabs are cooking, heat the tomato sauce in a small saucepan until warm.
- Once the kebabs are done, take the lavash bread and place the kebabs in the center.
- Wrap the lavash around the kebabs securely and place them seam side down on a baking tray.
- Bake the wrapped kebabs in the oven for about 10 minutes until the bread is crispy.
- Serve the Beyti Kebab drizzled with warm tomato sauce and a side of yogurt.
